Angel Bat Dawid: Clarinet, Voice
Angel Bat Dawid, from Chicago, is an African American composer, improviser, clarinetist, pianist, singer, educator, and DJ. Her debut album, „The Oracle“—recorded on a cell phone and released in 2019—was hailed by critics: Pitchfork described it as “a vibrant, spiritual free-jazz document of Black life today.” The charismatic musician’s live sets are regarded as energetic, hypnotic statements, full of surprises and performative intensity. At the heart of her work lies an exploration of racism, her family history, and the question of what it means to live as a Black person today. In her early 30s, she entered Chicago’s free music scene and broke away from the conventions of jazz. Her music is influenced by both the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) and the spirituality of artists such as Yusef Lateef and Alice Coltrane. In her solo setup, she plays several clarinets as well as keyboard instruments, samplers, and bells. After a prolonged absence from the stage, Angel Bat Dawid is making a comeback with a solo tour, during which she will present older material alongside music set to be released next year.
Philipp Eden: Piano, Electronics
Raphael Walser: Bass

divr from Switzerland celebrate the moment. The trio moves between improvisation, spontaneous composition, and meditative sounds. No two concerts are alike: the music emerges in real time and evolves through the attentive listening and intuitive connection of the three musicians.
From repetitive patterns, layered rhythms, and delicately interwoven melodies, sounds emerge that are constantly changing. At times, tension builds; at others, the individual voices coalesce into organic arcs, hypnotic loops, or atmospheric textures. Genre boundaries dissolve—jazz, ambient, and electronic music flow into one another, making it impossible to pin the music down to a specific form.
At the heart of it all is the collective exploration of the moment: every note responds to the one before it, and every impulse can open up a new direction. Risk, intuition, and openness to the unpredictable are just as important as precision and deep mutual trust.
“So is it more jazz or avant-garde?” asks Finnish jazz critic Mika Roth. “Is it a bird or a fish? I don’t know, but it swims and flies, gives us melodies, and shatters everything to pieces in the blink of an eye. So it must be divr.”
